Did You Know?
Interestingly, BMW did not design the first car that was manufactured by them. Called the BMW Dixi that came out in 1927, it was in fact nothing more than a badge-engineered version of the Austin 7, which was licensed to BMW by the Austin Motor Company. Ironically, almost 90 years later, Austin has long gone bankrupt and is a relic in automobile history, while BMW has gone on to become one of the most celebrated automobile manufacturers in the world.
