New and Used Toyota Allion for Sale in Sri Lanka 2017

Toyota Allion for Sale in Sri Lanka | Toyota Allion Price in Sri Lanka

The Toyota Allion was first introduced in early 2001, and was designated as a compact car according to the Japanese vehicle regulations. It gained a gradual popularity within the Japanese domestic market, grabbing the attention of Sri Lanka’s third party vehicle importers, who spent no time importing the car to the island. In Sri Lanka, the Allion is a hugely popular car. Spare parts and servicing options are therefore aplenty. Toyota Lanka does not officially import the car to Sri Lanka, being a Japan-only model, but would happily service the vehicle and bring down specific spare parts that are required. The Allion provides a soft driving experience and delivers good noise insulation for the car’s occupants, paving the way for a pleasant ride. Most of the Toyota Allion cars found in the country are high-spec G grade cars, although some have optional side-skirts and lip-spoilers fitted in as an enhancing feature. A Hybrid version of this car is currently not available, though Toyota does plan to expand its hybrid technology to its entire vehicle range.

Toyota’s Allion is a car that combined sporty and upmarket looks with good performance and class-leading fuel economy. The Allion in Sri Lanka is in its second generation, and both the first (T240) and second (T260) generation models are available in the island through independent importers. The car is closely related to the Toyota Premio, sharing most of its design form factor. The Allion was the replacement for the Toyota Carina, and evolved the sporty looks of the Carina into a new generation. Both the first and second-generation models of the Allion has a prominent athletic presence on the road. Compared to the Toyota Premio, which has similar specs, the Allion looks sportier and leaner, in order to appeal to the younger market. The interior feels like a luxury vehicle with a classy touch from Toyota to enhance the cars appeal. Owners report an extremely smooth ride even on bumpy roads maintaining a high degree of comfort to the passengers.

Toyota Allion Review in Sri Lanka

Toyota Allion Engine Specifications and Performance

As a car built for the middle class, the Toyota Allion packs a reasonable punch under its hood, to handle almost all the daily transportation needs of most Sri Lankan families. The majority of the Toyota Allion cars that are currently seen in Sri Lanka are powered by a 1.5 L inline 4-cylinder 16 Valves VVT-I DOHC Petrol engine, which sends drive to the front wheels through either a four-speed automatic or a CVT automatic gearbox. Even though this engine train might sound moderate, the Toyota Allion does have the capability to produce a notable level of power. According to Toyota, the car can generate more than 80 kW of power and nearly 136 Nm of torque, giving it an excellent 180 km/h top speed on the highways seen here in Sri Lanka. Not only that, but the figures also show that the Toyota Allion can reach an acceleration of just around 10 seconds, from zero to 100 km/h, making it a highly competitive challenger on the country’s busy city roads.

  • Size: 1.5 L
  • Cylinders: 4-Cylinder
  • Maximum Output: 80 kW @ 6000 rpm
  • Maximum Torque: 136 Nm @ 4800 rpm
