Toyota LiteAce for Sale in Sri Lanka 2017
Toyota LiteAce Review
Toyota LiteAce is a multi-purpose van, designed and manufactured by the Toyota Motor Corporation. Initially mid-engine and later designs shifted engine to the front to comply with safety regulations. This model is a massive success in Sri Lanka since third generation onwards, where it started dominating the segment of midsize transportation vehicles. First and second generations of LiteAce was less popular compared to its third and subsequent models. Economical, simple, yet highly durable 1 C and 2 C engines made this vehicle more popular. Its strong body could withstand against rust compared to its counterparts such as the Isuzu Fargo.
The truck version of LiteAce too is widely available in Sri Lanka whereas the full-bodied version is very popular as a family vehicle, dual-purpose vehicle, as well as a cargo carrier. The 4WD and luxury wagon version, the FXV, comes with a Skyline roof, individual rotating seats, dual air conditioner, heaters, and refrigerator and even powered curtains. The fourth generation LiteAce joined another series of Toyota fleet of vans, TownAce. From there onwards, both LiteAce and TownAce shared the same platform, body and interior with minor differences.
Top 10 Reasons to Consider When Buying a Toyota LiteAce
1. Toyota LiteAce History
Simple yet extremely rigid design made LiteAce popular as it was proven in Sri Lankan roads and the country’s highly humid environment. Early generations did not appeal to the market, which was addressed in third and subsequent models. Standard version can carry five commuters including the driver whereas the passenger version can accommodate up to six occupants. However, vehicles fitted with locally manufactured seats can accommodate more passengers using its luggage space. The front section can accommodate only one passenger apart from the driver due to its compact design. This gives a car like environment for front occupants with a floor-mounted gear lever for the driver and features a compact dashboard with all essentials. Design allows a perfect view of all four corners of the vehicle for the driver and makes it easy to drive, adding another reason to the list of preferences in the eye of the buyer.
Most vehicles sold in Sri Lanka were outfitted with front air conditioning and a power-assisted steering wheel. Later versions are better equipped with additional features such as central locking, front power shutters, etc. However, the luxury versions had all possible features such as power-assisted sliding doors, power curtains and even a dual air conditioner.

Although there were many petrol versions available from the manufacturer, in Sri Lanka, 5K and 7K engines were more popular. In terms of diesel 1C, 2C, 2C-T (turbocharged) and 3C-E engines were available in this series. The 2C engine delivers 51 kW whereas the turbo-charged and 3C-E engines delivered more power and torque.
The Diesel series grabs the prize when it comes to the efficiency of fuel consumption in this van, with an average of roughly 14 - 15 km/l under city running conditions, with even more for mixed or long distance travels.
